Knowing the PAX A920 Product

  • Power ON: Press and hold the power button down for 3 to 5 seconds and then release.

  • Power OFF: Press and hold the power button down for 3 to 5 seconds and then release.

  • Magnetic Stripe Card: Slide the card through the card reader slot from left to right or from right to left with the magnetic strip oriented towards the body of the device. Make sure that the card is fully inserted into the card reader while swiping the card.

  • IC/Smart Card Reader: Insert the card fully into the reader with the metallic contacts facing up and towards the device. Make sure that the card is fully inserted into the card reader while scanning the card.

  • Contactless Card Reader: The contactless card reader reads cards and devices placed roughly within an inch (2.5 mm). For best results, place as close to the reader as possible and center the card over the indicated area at the top of the terminal.

Volume Up and Down Buttons

  • The volume up and down buttons are located on the right side of the PAX A920 terminal, near the top. These buttons are small and rectangular, with raised symbols indicating the volume up (+) and volume down (-) functions. The volume up button increases the sound level of notifications and transaction beeps, while the volume down button decreases the sound level.

Charging Port

  • The charging port is located at the bottom edge of the PAX A920 terminal. It is a USB Type-C port or Micro USB depending on the type. It may be labeled with a small lightning bolt or charging icon. This port is used to connect the power adapter for charging the terminal. It can also be used for data transfer and other connectivity options, depending on the terminal’s capabilities.

Unbox Your PAX A920 Terminal

  • Open the box and take out the PAX A920 terminal, power brick, power cable and roll of thermal paper.

  • Ensure all items are present and in good condition.

Paper Installation

  • Open the Paper Compartment:

    • Lift the paper release hatch at the back to open the printer compartment.

  • Insert the Paper Roll:

    • Place the roll with the paper feeding from the bottom, ensuring a bit of paper extends out.

  • Close the Compartment:

    • Pull out a small amount of paper, then close the cover securely until it clicks.



Charge the Terminal

  • Connect the power cable to the power brick and connect them to the terminal.

  • Plug the adapter into a power outlet.

  • Allow the terminal to charge fully before the first use.

Connecting to Wi-Fi

  • Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the quick settings menu.

  • Tap on the Wi-Fi icon.

  • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

  • Tap "Connect."

SIM Card Installation

  • Power Off the Device: Ensure the device is turned off.

  • Remove the Battery Cover: Turn the device over, locate the battery cover, slide the latch to release it, and remove the cover.

  • Remove the Battery: Lift the battery from its compartment by pulling on the provided tab or edge.

  • Locate the SIM Card Slot: The SIM card slot is located under the battery compartment. see diagram:.

  • Insert the SIM Card: Carefully insert the SIM card into the slot with the gold contacts facing down and the cut corner aligned with the slot.

  • Reinstall the Battery: Place the battery back into its compartment, ensuring it is seated properly.

  • Replace the Battery Cover: Align the battery cover and slide it back into place until it clicks.

  • Power On the Device: Turn on the device and check if it recognizes the SIM card.
